Going green is not just a fad but an urgent need. From the simple waste segregation, fashion designs innovations (ike RIIR) and even Interior Design (PSID pioneered the EARTH Designs), we can definitely make a change in our own little way. SM has been changing the way they design their malls. They made a skygarden that promotes blending of modern architecture with the environment. All Comfort room urinals have been replaced by waterless and water efficient water closet. Jollibee did the same for their food chains replacing air conditioing units with cost efficient ones. What was interesting was The Body Shop, which is practicing Green since they started more than 2 decades ago. Recycling karts into display boxes, recycled bottles and the use of organic products lessen the carbon footprint we leave behind. The way we do product production has to be changed and be sustainable. As retailers, it is a social responsibility to help preserve the environment and give the consumers products of great value.

Massimo Dutti launches its boutique in Greenbelt 5 with a blast. Attended by Manila's elite and "fasyon" society, it was like a circus. Everywhere you turn your head, you'll see a familiar face.
Models, socialites, designers, E-I-C, PR mavens, Investors, Business tycoons, they party the best and the posh-iest! Mr Fernando Zobel de Ayala and Kitkat Zobel just roaming around without guards? I love their humility and money.

In the hype of recession, Ayala Mall decided to have Fashion show for Greenbelt 3 tenats last May 29, 2009. Some brands offered discounts and some free refreshments. I had a close encounter with the models I love for the first time in my lifetime stalking career. You can finally see who's really good looking, who's not, who has big pores, who has smooth skin and who's really skinny. Across LV store was my crush then, Trishan Cuaso who was a little snob. I called him but he didn't turn around and didn't smile at all. hay....He's really good looking.

April 25, 2009 at the Heaven on the 5th, Rustans Makati was the launch of the Endangered Wildlife Swarovski Collection. Anton Hirzinger made 2 impressive gorilla crystal figurines in faceted black diamond crystal. It depicts Mother and child bonding from the wilderness. It was a sight to behold. However, this event was a lil to old for me and my friends so after the luncheon and the mini film showing we hurried off to get some coffee in the nearest starbucks. We found an origami page in a magazine and decided to make a dragon's tail body ornament and copy Lady Gaga's costume.

Luckily, Im getting invites from my designer friends not because of my job. I always thought of Fashion Week as glamorous as the way NYC and Milan do. Here its well celebrated yes, but not as posh as it should be. why?

• Seating arrangements are not being followed
• Runways start late
• They don't give out loot bags, if they do, it has been snagged by your seatmate
  
  

This year I only attended the first day of the fashion week, May 26, 2009, 6:00pm at the SMX Convention. There were the SM Runway, The Marlon Rivera show and The Premier Collection A which includes Angelo Estera, Jerome Ang, Joel Escober, Randall Solomon, Raoul Ramirez and Yako Reyes. I'ts really fun to see beautiful clothes and beautiful people, make you feel almost like a model too. But when the time had come for me to see Marc Nelson with his buddy (Tisha Silang's Bf), I was just speechless and petrified. He had the perfect smile, tone and jaw. My lips didn't open for seconds and I was too late to take pictures of him. However I found this picture from http://www.runway2reality.com/ taken the same night. hay.. I wish I had a picture of us together.
