Buried

Today is the first day of fashion week and I missed it. Well I really didn't have plans of seeing the kids show for 1 reason, the used to be BM of one of the brands I handle is with SM kids department. Second, I'm not so much into kids wear coz Im not a kid anymore. make sense?

Anyway, I went straight to Megamall from work to catch the premiere of BURIED. Tonight was KIMERALDs new movie premiere as well. My ratings of the movie? so so. Probably because I was expecting some entertainment but it all it gave me was stress. It could be just the way the director wants the viewers to feel. They say a movie is effective if you see yourself in it or you feel how the actors feel. 90 minutes is a long time to see an all bruised Ryan Reynolds in a wooden coffin with just a blackberry, a lighter, a flashlight, a glow stick, a pencil, a paper with scribbles and a snake trying his best to stay alive and get help, shifting from one emotion to the next.
Though there were dragging moments in the middle of the movie where you wana just go to sleep or leave the theater. The repetitive ranting, moaning and cussing were very annoying too. Ryan is hot but his character is not.
"Buried" reflected how vulnerable a human being is and how emotions can drive a person mad.It also involves political and social bureaucracy I may not be able to expound. You wanna know how the movie ended? well you have to spend 90 minutes of suffocating, clautrophobic experience to know.

PHILIPPINE FASHION WEEK SS 2011

Its Fashion Week once again everyone! This is the time of the year where people dress to impress, some to kill. Raid your wardrobes and get your precious Hermes, Prada, Gucci, YSL, Chanel, Loboutan steal some spotlight.
My blog has been boring and empty lately so Im planning to do some twist. Actually it’s more of a challenge to me. This season, I’ll try to get into Bryan Boys stilletos. Make to the front row and blog on the spot.
How will I do this?

Getting In
I already got the invites from the runway productions and rsvp’d to Mito so all I need to do is go the event. We all know that only the VIPs get to sit in the front row. These are E-I-Cs, Celebs and socialites and Im totally not any of the three.
Option 1: Contact Mr Castillo to get me inside the hall and sit on the front before the door opens.
Option 2: Look for Allan who’s a schoolmate so he can find me a better seat location.
Option 3: Just seat anywhere vacant.

Gadgets
Bloggers bring their laptops with them so they can blog as the show happens. Luckily, my HP Mini Vivienne Tam edition is runway ready. I also got a Smart bro to keep me online if wifi in SMX doesn’t work or if there is any. Blackberry is my alternative if everything goes wrong.

Wardrobe
I’m not really prepared for this so I might just restyle my wardrobe. I might pull off some Marni, Comme des Garcons, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, H&M and VT.

See you on the runway!

Lantau Island, HK

Right after the HKTDC seminar, I headed off to see Ngong Ping Village. I took the metro lines and hit the cable car to the Lantau island. Not a fan of heights, putting myself together inside the car wasn't easy. Spectacular view of the mountainous terrain and the Tu Chung bay has calm me in some ways. In the village you'll find shops, restaurants, a theatre and the Big Buddha at the end of the walk. There is also a monastery near the buddha temple.

Hong Kong trip

This trip was the least stressful of all. Thanks to my company, everything has been arranged according to my preference, round trip tickets with transfers, 5 star hotel and allowance in USD. I was sent there for work. Had to see and experience the Fashion capital of Asia and do some research. Attending HKTDC is one.

HKTDC hosts seminars, fashion shows and exhibits every season. Most fashion forecasts are adapted to asian taste and seasons. It's amazing to hear native chinese speakers delivering their speeches in british accent. In the exhibits, you'll meet supplier from all over asia and get sample freebies.

Universal Studios Singapore

with puss
Me with Kung Fu Panda
Broadway walk
with the Madagascar cast
gossiping in met steps
Leaving Universal studios with a swag

Everyone gets to experience their first times. This trip was my first outside Philippines. My friend planned this 6 months ahead so we have enough time to prepare. Originally, we were only to visit Kuala Lumpur but got discounted plane tickets to Singapore with in the same period. After landing to KL, we hopped to the other airbus to SG right away. Singapore's Sentosa is the largest themed park I've ever seen. This also houses the newly opened Universal Studios. The park is divided into 7 sections with its own themes, The Lost World, FarFarAway, Madagascar, Ancient Egypt, Sci-Fi City, Hollywood and New York. It was a fun experience that brought out the little kid in me.

Has it been a month? felt like a year of not blogging. I can't even think of something to blog. My everyday schedule is pretty much just work. Every other day I go to the gym yet I still have flabs. on weekends, I have dinner or lunch with old time friends. I cannot say I am happy nor sad. Just in the middle. I have activities yet I don't feel complete. As if there's a disconnect in the loop or something. Conceptualizing a campaign, promotions, design are everyday blabs. Proposal here, invitation there, sponsorships you almost say NO to all though sometimes it's heat breaking. This is the world I belong now. Place where challenges greet you everyday and risk of Failure is at 95%. STOOOOOOOPPPP! when did I become so pessimistic and jaded? This has to stop and I gotta get my feet on the ground.

  • Who would like to come with me? dresscode: fashionably chic / black and white ----another night of cosmopolitan, louboutins clackers, chanel and hermes bags....

Breaking my silence

Feels like iloveruffaG finally making a statement after walking out of the BUZZ. Life has been a roller coaster lately. Changes in the office added more pressure in my becoming-fast-paced-lifestyle. Uncle Ben was right when he said "Great power comes great responsibility." I am in the point in my life when I need to manage my career and lifestyle. I might be cutting off some bad habits and bring in new positive ones.
Change no. 1
Because my phones were stolen I had to buy a new one but this time I'll have one phone. I bought the MyPhone New Moon edition. It's liberating coz I dont care about brands anymore. function over fashion? A BIG YES!

Change No. 2
This time its physical. I enrolled to a gym to get into yoga, body combat, hip hop and cycling classes. A fun way to get fit and training for the next fun run.
Change No. 3
I am now doing budget plans, shelling out some cash to help my loved ones. My hard earned money goes a long way now. CASH WELL SPENT.
